The Prototype is an upcoming action/science fiction film directed by Andrew Will and being produced by Variant Films, Sunrise Pictures and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. The film is about a dying scientist who melds himself with an advanced cybernetic frame to save his own life, becoming a cyborg, but is labelled by the media as a rogue military robot that escaped from a Federal Bureau of Investigation evidence storage facility and hunted down by merciless soldiers. The film was first announced in June 21, 2012. A proof-of-concept teaser trailer was released. The film is in pre-production.
